       The Wine Program
  

When Christos and I opened our first restaurant in 1999, I was both thrilled and terrified at the prospect of having to write a wine list to match my husband’s exquisite food menu.  I had always enjoyed wine and studied it in a casual way, but was far from an expert.  Fortunately I had some great mentors to help me and was a quick study.  The wine list at Ariadne Restaurant & Bar focuses on small production wines, usually under 10,000 cases made per vintage, with most being under 2500 and many under 1000. We take our wine program seriously and work hard to find the best wines available.

Every week I meet with my staff to taste wine and food, so they can better understand the wine list and the wonderful marriage of fine wine with food. I attend countless tasting through out the year and many wine related classes and programs to always be on top of what is going on in the ever changing world of wine.  A great deal of attention is given to the use of proper glassware, which significantly increases the enjoyment of the wine.  We also use temperature control cabinets to store the wine properly and enhance its enjoyment.  We frequently host wine makers and other wine industry experts for wine dinners, to be informed about these and other special wine related events we have at the restaurant please sign up for  our e-mail newsletter.
